The pandemic has interfered with Dancing with the Stars once again. This time, judge Derek Hough is the one who may have to miss out of the ABC show’s finale.
Deadline shares that DWTS judge and professional ballroom dancer and choreographer Derek Hough took to his social media to announce that he has tested positive for Covid. Thankfully, Hough has been vaccinated so he’s feeling well, but fans are worried what this could mean for Dancing with the Stars.
Hough tells fans:
"“I feel OK. I feel strong. I’m currently taking advice from medical professional, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can.”"
The ABC competition series is suppose to air its season 30 finale live on Nov. 22, could things change? This isn’t the first time someone on DWTS had to make adjustments, and the show went on!
Is Derek Hough going to be in the Dancing with the Stars finale?
We only have one week to go before the season 30 finale of Dancing with the Stars arrives. While it is possible for Hough to receive a negative Covid test, I’m sure the cast and crew are preparing for anything.
Back in September, dancer Cheryl Burke and contestant Cody Rigsby announced they have Covid. They danced from their living room sharing their moves live on video, so if they were able to pull a performance that way, I’m sure Hough can judge from home, too.
As soon as we learn more about what the plan is, we’ll let you know by updating this post!
In the meantime, the source shares that Hough’s residency is canceled, for now! Hough announced that his Vegas residency at The Venetian “will be rescheduled for a date soon,” promising to share the new dates shortly.
We are wishing Derek Hough a speedy recovery!
Dancing with the Stars season 30 finale airs Monday, Nov. 22, only on ABC.
