The Home Alone movies are always at the top of our list each holiday season. There’s just nothing better to put you in that holiday spirit than to watch your favorite Christmas movies while cooking, wrapping presents, or just enjoying some time with family. A new Home Alone movie was recently released, which has many fans confused — how many Home Alone movies are there?

The main Home Alone cast includes Macaulay Culkin, Catherine O’Hara, Joe Pesci, Kieran Culkin, and many others. The original movie premiered in 1990 and continues to be a classic more than three decades later.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York came out just two years later in 1992, and some may argue that it’s better than the first! That’s how loved these movies are. I watch both back-to-back every holiday season.

Then, there’s Home Alone 3, with a new cast. This movie premiered in 1997 and follows a different story. Simply put, it’s not very good. Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House isn’t great, either. In fact, it ruins the original story. I suggest skipping this one.

Home Alone: The Holiday Heist came in 2012 follows another family and, honestly, I’ve never seen it. Finally, we have Home Sweet Home Alone, the latest installment that premiered on November 2021.
