Sunday, Nov. 21 brought us Sunday Night Football, the American Music Awards, and new episodes of favorite shows. Here’s a look at the live TV ratings.

It won’t be surprising to hear that  Sunday Night Football on NBC won the night. Well, to be honest, the NFL Overrun on FOX won the night overall still pulling in 19.28 million viewers and a 4.6 demo at the tail end. But when it came to primetime, NBC won the night with 11.85 million viewers and a 3.0 demo.

ABC had a night without its usual shows except for America’s Funniest Home Videos, which was down 8% in the audience but up 6% in the demo. There’s nothing to worry about with this series. The rest of the night was all about the American Music Awards, which did perform better than the usual Sunday night programming.

Animation Domination up in the live TV ratings

With FOX having the Sunday afternoon game, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that Animation Domination was up across the board. The Simpsons started it with a 124% increase in the demo and a 133% increase in the audience.

I’m not concerned about the Animation Domination lineup. The Simpsons is already renewed, and I expect the other shows to be renewed too.

The Equalizer was mixed for CBS. The demo was up 5% but the audience was down 4%. These are still great results with the audience still the top of the night out of all scripted programming. I’m not worried about this show.

I am still somewhat on the fence for NCIS: LA. It was steady in the demo but down 5% in the audience. It could still be enough to keep the show going for another season.

The CW saw Legends of the Hidden Temple fall by 100% in the demo and almost 1% in the audience. I don’t think the falls are too concerning. The show is still performing okay for The CW so I expect a renewal.
