Is Eddie really leaving the 118 on 911 Season 5?

At the end of the 911 Season 5 fall finale, Eddie dropped a big announcement. Is Ryan Guzman really going to leave the series?

Throughout the fifth season of 911, the show has built up Eddie’s storyline to this point. He’s struggling with panic attacks after being shot. Being held at gunpoint during the prison break didn’t help matters.

Everything came to a head during the 911 Season 5 fall finale. Eddie had to deal with a highly emotional Christopher, getting to the bottom of why Christopher wanted everything to be perfect. After the loss of his mom, Christopher is worried that his dad won’t be around next Christmas.

It’s understandable, and that’s led to Eddie having to make a big decision. He has chosen to leave the 118 and find a safer job for the sake of his son.

Is Ryan Guzman leaving 911 Season 5?

Of course, this has left us with a lot of questions. The biggest is whether this exit is going to happen. Will we lose Ryan Guzman on the series?

We start with some good news. Guzman is contracted for another three years on the series according to 911 News on Twitter. That means the actor shouldn’t be leaving the show, but that doesn’t mean Eddie will still be part of the 118.

It would be possible for Eddie to make a career move and still be part of the series. He could get a job in another profession and still help people. There’s even the possibility of him moving into being a dispatcher, meaning we could end up with more time spent with the dispatchers having May, Eddie, and eventually Maddie back in the fold.

We could also see him remain as part of the 118 family without actually being there. Just because he’s leaving the 118 doesn’t mean he’s going to completely leave the series.

Then there’s also the possibility that Eddie leaves the 118 and then decides to return. While he’s thought about the decision right now, Christopher may see that his dad is upset and want his dad to go back to a job he loves. Leaving right now doesn’t have to be permanent.
