Dexter: New Blood episode 6 recap: I need Dexter Morgan

Dexter: New Blood episode 6 is the most intense episode so far this season. Did you miss it? Spoilers ahead!

Last week, I complained about how irritating Debra is becoming. I loved her in the Dexter original. But here so far? Not so much. But in Dexter: New Blood episode 6 she takes it down a notch, which is exactly what we were all hoping she would do.

Dexter tells Deb that he’s more worried than angry with Harrison. It doesn’t help that Harrison is becoming a little too close with Kurt, so when Harrison asks Dexter for permission to work for Kurt, Dexter shoots him down.

It doesn’t really matter, Kurt signs the permission form for Dexter, which is illegal to do, but we all know Kurt has done worse. And Dexter soon discovers that Kurt has certainly done much, much worse. Another cat is out of the bag, Kurt is a serial killer and Angela is hot on his trail. Let’s see what else happened in the latest episode of Dexter: New Blood. 

What happens in Dexter: New Blood episode 6?

Our jaws drop when Angela asks Dexter for Dexter Morgan’s license and registration. Dex’s defense? Faking your own death isn’t a crime. He does have a pretty good explanation, I guess. Dexter opens up about Rita and Debra, sharing that he believes it was a curse and that he was hoping to die in the accident. So when he survived, he thought it was a sign to start over and that he has never been happier.

Angela seems to understand, but she is still shaken up and angry. Everything Dexter has shared with her before has been a lie, even his name. That feeling of betrayal won’t be easy to erase.

What will Dexter do about Kurt?

Dexter has discovered Kurt’s cabin, the one where he hunts his victims. What will he do about it? Even Dexter isn’t sure. For now, he wants Kurt to stay away from Harrison, but that’s going to be easier said than done. Killing Kurt may only complicate things, Dexter is going to have to give it some thought.

Why does Angela need Dexter Morgan?

After discovering the remains of a body, a tearful and scared Angela calls Dexter. But when Dex picks up, she tells him that she doesn’t need Jim, she needs Dexter Morgan. My bet is that Angela will ask Dexter to use his old skills to investigate this case. That or maybe she wants to get to know the real Dexter Morgan from here on out.
