The Witcher season 2: All the important new characters we’ll meet

It’s almost time to dive back in the world of The Witcher with the season 2 releasing on Dec. 17! The show is incredible on it’s own as well and a great adaptation of the books. The Witcher season 2 follows Geralt and Ciri’s journey after they are united at end of the first season. Yennifer’s fate after the battle was also teased at the end of the first season. Finally, fan-favorite bard Jaskier will also return alongside a lot of other characters from season 1.

Dara, the elf Ciri met in forest, will return in season 2. King Foltest and Stregebor will also return.
The show is packed with unique and great characters and more will join in the upcoming season.

The Witcher season 2 cast: Which new characters are joining?

Here are all the confirmed new characters:

Vesemir

Vesemir isn’t new in the Netflix The Witcher universe. The character was important in the anime prequel The Witcher :Nightmare Of The Wolf. Vesemir trained Geralt along with a lot of young witchers at Kaer Morhen, so he is a father-figure to Geralt. The character will be much older in season 2 and is played by Kim Bodnia.

Filavandrel and Francesca Findabair

Filavandrel used to be the king of the elves. Francesca Findabair is an Elven sorceress who becomes Queen of the free Elves and has an alliance with Fringilla (sorceress of Nilfgaard in season 1).

More Witchers

Geralt will meet three more fellow witchers in season 2. They are Eskel, Lambert, and Coen, who he grew up with at Kaer Morhen.

Nivellen and Vareena

Nivellen is an old friend of Geralt who uses magic. In the books, he was cursed to live as a monster for raping a priestess who hides Vareena, a bruxa (a vampire like creature) that he loves. Geralt and Ciri will visit his house during their journey to Kaer Morhen.

Rience

A mage with fiery abilities who hunts for Geralt and Ciri. He will probably be the main, or one of the main, villains in the show this season.

Lydia

Vilgefortz’s assistant at the Brotherhood of Sorcerers.

Artorius

Another mage at the brotherhood of sorcerers, who is Fringilla’s uncle.

Nenneke

A priestess at the Temple of Melitele, and taught Geralt his magical signs when he was younger.

These are all the characters we will cover in this article. There are a few more new characters and lot of characters from the first season that will return that you might not expect! Who are you looking forward to meeting most?
