After months of anticipation, Spider-Man: No Way Homeis finally in theaters everywhere. After its shocking conclusion, will it get a sequel?

If box office returns are a way of garnering interest for a sequel, it’s clear that fans want to continue watching the adventures of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. No Way Home registered the second-highest opening weekend at the domestic box office with $260 million. Only Avengers: Endgame recorded a higher opening weekend domestically with over $357 million.

For those who haven’t gotten a chance to see it, No Way Home picks up right after the mid-credits scene in Far From Home, where Mysterio revealed Spider-Man’s identity as Peter Parker. The unwanted attention causes problems for not only Peter, but for Ned, MJ, Aunt May, and Happy Hogan.

Desperate to make a change, Peter enlists the help of Doctor Strange to create a spell to restore his secret identity. When the spell goes awry, villains from other universes enter this world to exact their revenge against Peter. Those villains include Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Lizard, Electro, and Sandman. It’s up to Peter (and help from a few special friends) to restore balance in his universe and send the supervillains back home.

Without getting into spoilers, the film’s ending appears to complete Holland’s trilogy. However, there is room for more stories in this universe. Will a sequel happen?

Will Spider-Man: No Way Home get a sequel?

Depending on who you ask will determine the answer for a sequel. After a record-setting weekend, there is no doubt that Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are interested in creating more Spider-Man films with Holland.

Pascal has given multiple answers to the question about a sequel. In November, the Sony producer told Fandango that another trilogy with Holland was in the works. At the world premiere, Pascal seemed to walk back on those definitive comments, stating that if it were up to her, there will be more films with Holland as Parker.

Regardless of your opinion, there is an audience for these films so Marvel and Sony will most likely do everything in their power to continue making Spider-Man films.
