Morbius release dates around the world: When is the movie coming out where you live?

JAN. 3 UPDATE: Sony Pictures has delayed Morbius. The movie will now arrive in theaters on April 1, 2022. We’ll update the information below when we get closer to the new release date. 

The next movie we’re excited to watch, and one of the first movies of 2022, is Morbius! When is the movie coming out where you live? Here are all the known release dates we have so far. And while the month of January isn’t known for great movie releases, we are definitely looking forward to this one.

Moviegoers are still processing the awesomeness that is Spider-Man: No Way Home, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t ready for the next adventure Marvel has in store for us. Morbius is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and it follows Michael Morbius, a biochemist who has a rare blood disease and is desperate for a cure. He tries to cure himself, but his experiment goes horribly wrong as he infects himself with a form of vampirism.

The movie stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adia Arjona, Michael Keaton, and others. When is the movie in theaters and how soon can you purchase movie tickets? Will the movie stream online or is it a theater exclusive? When is it coming out where you live? We’ve got all the details for you!

When is Morbius coming out in theaters in your country?

• Australia, Brazil, Hungary, New Zealand, and Slovakia: Jan. 20, 2022
• Hong Kong and Lithuania: Jan. 21, 2022
• South Korea: Jan. 26, 2022
• Argentina, Germany, Cambodia, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Ukraine: Jan. 27, 2022
• Bulgaria, Canada, Spain, Fiinland, UK, Ireland, Iceland, Latvia, Sweden, Turkey, USA: Jan. 28, 2022
• Italy: Feb. 3, 2022

Don’t forget that in many parts of the world, showings beginning the evening of the day before the official premiere date. For example, for USA audiences, this means showings for Morbius will start the evening of Jan. 27.

When are Morbius movie tickets available for purchase?

At the time of this writing, movie tickets are not available. Some movies do have tickets available about a month before the release, but most tickets aren’t available until two weeks before the release of the movie.

Where can you stream Morbius online?

Morbius will only be playing in theaters, but when it does move on to a streaming platform, its online home will be Netflix, at least for USA audiences. And this won’t happen until somewhere between June 2022 and early September 2022, according to What’s On Netflix. As soon as we know the official date, including international dates, we’ll update this post!
