The Good Doctor is not returning with new episodes in January 2022

The Good Doctor left us with a lot of questions in the Season 5 fall finale. We won’t get any answers in January 2022. How long do we have to wait?

When we’re left with a lot of questions, we need answers right away. Sadly, that’s not going to happen with The Good Doctor Season 5. All those questions will have to wait…a while!

New episodes of The Good Doctor Season 5 are nowhere on the schedule in January 2022. It is certainly disappointing news, especially with so many of our favorite shows returning. We did get a small warning about this, especially with the premiere date of a new series in the show’s timeslot at the end of this month.

Promised Land will premiere on Monday, Jan. 24. This doesn’t look good for the wait for new episodes of our favorite medical drama.

When will The Good Doctor return in 2022?

The show is coming back this year. We will get more episodes to Season 5, but there’s a wait on our hands. With Promised Land premiering at the end of the month, it means that we’re not going to get any new episodes of the medical drama this winter.

In fact, TVLine made it clear recently that the series wouldn’t return until spring 2022. That means anytime between the end of March and the end of June. We’re hoping for sometime around the end of March to make sure the season finishes strong in May.

There are usually 18 episodes to the season, so this wait isn’t too bad. It will give the show time to film all the remaining episodes so we don’t have to deal with delays later in the year due to the pandemic shutting things down.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the return date for The Good Doctor Season 5.
