Good Sam cast: Who stars in the medical drama?

Good Sam, the latest medical drama to land on television, is a workplace power struggle between a father and daughter.

Dr. Sam Griffith (Sophia Bush) is bright, incredibly driven, and determined to step from out of her father’s shadow. She, however, works at the same hospital that he does, so that remains a challenge especially in light of her being his boss.

Prior to Dr. Rob Griffith falling into a coma, he’d been the head of surgery. Months have passed since then and in his place, Sam has risen to the position and excelled. Now that he’s awake, however, Rob has every intention of resuming his former duties.

Unfortunately for him, it won’t be that simple. He is a renowned heart surgeon with an ego to match his skill with a scalpel, but Sam isn’t out of a job simply because he opened his eyes. In fact, she’s put in charge of supervising him which makes their already combative and tense relationship even worse.

He has no interest in moving out of the way for his daughter to continue to rise, not at the cost of his own success. Not to mention, his years of expertise outmatch hers. But the good doctor’s underestimation of his daughter will prove a folly.

Sam has no intention on being bullied out of a position she loves nor is she willing to let her father steamroll over the direction she’s taken the department during his medical absence. She’s an exceptional doctor coming into her own as head of surgery, and she won’t have her father getting in the way of the progress she’s made.

Their clashes, and Griff’s undermining of Sam’s decisions, creates a working environment that’s not only chaotic but also awkward for the surgical residents under Sam’s purview. They have their own dreams of success and desire to make their name in the medical field as well.

It’s a situation that’s a bit of a powder keg but at the end of the day, their patients come first. Or at least they should.
