Sometimes, you have to take one giant leap and trust it will all work out. Both Deja and Nicky experienced their own leaps on last week’s episode of This Is Us. Spoilers ahead if you missed last week’s episode!
After lying to Beth and Randall about her whereabouts, Deja hops on a bus to visit Malik at Harvard. Shortly after arrival, she unexpectedly meets Jennifer, the mother of Malik’s child, Janelle. It’s not a warm welcome, to say the least.
When Deja learns about Malik’s struggles, she gives him a few hours to finish his paper. That night, Deja tells Malik that she’s ready to have intercourse. Both kids are extremely nervous, but they eventually calm down and finally have sex.
The other half of the episode revolved around Nicky’s romantic life. After Facebook stalking at all hours of the day, Nicky finally agreed to visit his long-lost love, Sally, thanks to some convincing from Rebecca and Miguel.
The trio arrives at Sally’s house, and all is well until Sally’s husband arrives, much to the dismay of Nicky. After an awkward dinner conversation, Sally and Rebecca bond over aging and how they should not care what others think about their decisions. Even though the husband reveals disappointed him, Nicky found a picture of himself on Sally’s wall, and in his eyes, that’s all he needed to see to change his mood.
After Nicky tells Rebecca and Miguel that he will head back to the East Coast, Nicky’s wife arrives at the cabin in a flash-forward. Her name is Edie, and Nicky met her on his flight back from LA.
This Is Us season 6 episode 3 synopsis
Tonight’s episode involves fatherhood. Jack, Kevin, Randall, and Toby will experience some bumps when connecting with their children. In true This Is Us fashion, we hope there’s a happy ending for our favorite fathers!
