For years after Friends concluded back in 2004, fans pleaded for some sort of reunion to bring back the six main cast members — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry — on one stage again. Finally, the people got what they wanted in 2021, when Friends: The Reunion debuted on HBO Max.

Instead of a scripted special that would bring back the six main characters for another episode, Friends: The Reunion was more of a sit-down with the actors, where they reminisced on their favorite parts of starring on the sitcom and revealed some juicy behind-the-scenes secrets. Who knew Aniston and Schwimmer really did have feelings for each other in the ’90s?

Considering the reunion was so well received and was a huge hit for HBO Max, it likely won’t take long for talks of a second special to come up. I mean, fans will probably start rallying for another reunion in the next year, if they haven’t already. But what are the chances it’ll happen again? This one was years in the making.

Will another Friends reunion happen?

According to Courteney Cox, we shouldn’t get our hopes up. As reported by Cinema Blend, the 57-year-old actress stopped by the UK talk show Lorraine to promote her new movie Scream, where she was asked about the potential for another Friends reunion. Her answer, unfortunately, was disappointing, as she explained:

"Oh, I didn’t even think about that. No one asks anymore. I think they got their fill. I mean, we can’t do another one, we’ll be too old."

Depending on how many years would pass between Friends: The Reunion and another special, I highly doubt the cast would be “too old” to do it. None of the main six are retired from acting, so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to assume they could come together once again. However, it really depends if they want to do it or not.

Though Cox’s answer here isn’t encouraging, let’s wait a few more years. Maybe the cast will be singing a different tune.

In the meantime, you can stream all 10 seasons of Friends on HBO Max.

Next. You won’t believe how much the Friends cast made for the Friends reunion. dark
