The story is about, Anna Delvey, a con-woman who tells everyone she has a trust fund of almost $60 million. Anna conned rich people, law firms, real estate and financial advisors. She was ultimately caught and arrested. The story unfolds like a novel, getting suspenseful with every chapter.

Inventing Anna is worth watching this weekend

Vivian, a factionalized version of journalist Jessica Pressler, talks with Anna and people who knew her, friends, colleagues and those she tricked. Every narrative is depicted as flashbacks. Since there are different people who talk about Anna from their perspective, the tone and style changes with different episodes.

The story isn’t just about her fraudulent adventures with New York’s moneymen, but also about the ‘invention’, becoming who she was. Based on Jessica Pressler’s 2019 New York Magazine story, Inventing Anna opens with magazine press and slowly tells the entire story. Yes, the episodes are long, but still very entertaining. With its big Netflix budget, the show portrays the rich lifestyle well.

Anna Delvey is portrayed by Julia Garner, you may know her from Ozark, did her role so well and her take in this series is very original. It’s an overall amazing cast. Inventing Anna is definitely worth a watch.

Inventing Anna stream on Netflix on Feb. 11.
