The teams on The Amazing Race 33 continue to deliver exciting trips around the globe each Wednesday night on CBS. At the time of this writing, there are still four teams left! Does this mean there are three or four more episodes this season? When is the The Amazing Race 33 finale? Here’s what we know about the last episode of The Amazing Race

The current season of the CBS reality competition show took a long time to arrive due to the pandemic. The first couple of episodes had been filmed just before COVID, we even got to see the teams learn about the pandemic. However, due to lockdowns, production had to hit pause for over a year! And when they were ready to film and race again, not all teams were able to return to the competition. That said, episode count this season is going to be a little complicated.

When is the last episode of The Amazing Race 33?

At this time, eight episodes have aired this season. Episode 9, titled “Rock Bottom,” drops on Wednesday, Feb. 23. But it’s not the season finale. According to The Amazing Race records, the past several seasons have aired a total of 12 episodes, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that there are four more to go.

Why? Because many teams were not able to return when filming resumed, so there are only four teams remaining. There has only been this many episodes this season thanks to a couple of “non-elimination” rounds. Still, I don’t think this means the episode count will change drastically. My best guess is that there are a total of three more episodes, setting the season 33 finale for March 9. Of course, if there is another non-elimination round (which is possible if CBS wants to keep its tradition of 12 episodes), then the season 33 finale will be March 16.

If anything changes or is officially announced, we’ll update this post!

Here are the remaining teams (at the time of this writing):

  • Kim & Penn (Internet Personalities)
  • Raquel & Cayla (Flight Attendants)
  • Ryan & Dusty (Best Friends)
  • Arun & Natalia (Father/Daughter)
