Why Life Sentence deserved a second season on The CW

Life Sentence, a series all about life giving you a second chance, deserved a second season on The CW. We still miss the comedy-drama today.

Lucy Hale had two back-to-back shows that were not given a fair chance at The CW, Life Sentence and Katy Keene. But, even though I wish we could get both shows back on the network, I believe it’s Life Sentence that had the most potential.

The comedy-drama Life Sentencestars Lucy Hale, Elliot Knight, Jayson Blair, Brooke Lyons, and Carlos PenaVega. The story follows Stella Abbott (Hale), a young woman who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. She accepts her fate, is in a loving marriage and has a seemingly perfect family. For Stella, the phrase “live every day like it’s your last” is very real. Miraculously, however, Stella is cured, and this is where the nightmare begins.

Stella finds out that those closest to her are not as happy as they appeared to be. They were all faking it so that Stella would have no worries and live her final days in peace. Now that she’s cured, her world is turning upside down with some harsh revelations.

We need Life Sentence season 2

The CW decided to cancel Life Sentence after only one season, which was only setting up what could’ve been a great series. Not only is the concept of the series unique and fun, but it’s all about getting a second chance and doing what you didn’t dare to do before, so it’s disappointing that the network couldn’t give the series a second chance just when the story was getting good.

What do you think? Would you have loved to see where the story went after season 1? What do you miss the most about Life Sentence? Which canceled series has hurt you the most?
