Bob’s Burgers is one of the most underrated shows when it comes to romance. While most people might not think of the show as being romantic, the series actually does an excellent job of being romantic when it needs to be.

Valentine’s Day has been a huge theme on Bob’s Burgers for years. While Bob is unanimously bad at coming up with gifts for Linda or celebrating in general, he tries his best. As for Linda, she tries her best to be as romantic as possible despite them not having a lot. Obviously, it ends up with some disastrous results.

Meanwhile, the Belcher kids always end up either spending the day with their parents or having adventures of their own. For Tina, it’s a huge deal while the other two don’t put nearly as much stock into it. Either way, we’re finally getting a late Valentine’s Day episode of Bob’s Burgers for Season 12.

If you haven’t watched “Ferry on My Wayward Bob and Linda,” then there will be spoilers from this point on. If you have watched, be sure to let us know your favorite Valentine’s Day episode from the series thus far.

Here’s what happened on Bob’s Burgers episode, “Ferry on My Wayward Bob and Linda.”

The episode begins with Teddy asking Bob and Linda about their Valentine’s Day plans which isn’t much of anything until Rachel, a fellow chef comes in and compliments him. She invites them to her restaurant on King’s Head Island for Valentine’s Day and they happily agree while Jen is tasked with babysitting the kids.

Louise decides to take advantage of Jen by having her take them shopping for discount candy while Bob and Linda barely make their ferry to get to King Head’s Island before they find out they’re headed to the wrong harbor. They decide to take a cab to try to get there but end up having to walk. Meanwhile, the Belcher kids decide to try and blackmail Jen for inviting a guy over.

While walking towards the restaurant, Bob and Linda spot a trailer and stop to ask for help which they can get as long as they help catch some sheep. Bob starts yelling at the sheep since he decides they’re exactly like Linda and him who is also somewhere they shouldn’t be.

Bob and Linda are eventually able to get a ride in the back of Kelly’s truck after they wrangle the sheep. Before they can get clean, Kelly drops them off at the restaurant and Bob immediately wants to go back home but Linda convinces him otherwise. Bob begins to feel insecure before they go in but Linda explains that they deserve to have a good time. The episode ends with the kids setting up Jen and her notary while Bob and Linda finally decide to go in.

Which three moments from “Ferry on My Wayward Bob and Linda” scream romance?

Romance didn’t exactly blossom in this year’s Bob’s Burgers Valentine’s Day offering, but it’s clear the Belchers tried to make the best of it. The first romantic moment was when Bob and Linda almost didn’t make the ferry but they decided to go for it together and try to hold hands. It didn’t work but they were able to have fun, doing it together. Honestly, that’s something most people underestimate about Valentine’s Day.

Then the next romantic moment wasn’t actually between Bob and Linda. Rather, the moment in which the kids helped set Jen and the notary up on a date was cute. It was clearly Tina’s idea, but it’s obvious all of them wanted to see Jen happy. Even though Jen can be an annoying character, it was nice to see the Belchers kids band together to help her find love.

Last but certainly not least was the final moment of the episode. Even though we didn’t get to see Bob and Linda go into the restaurant, they cleaned each other and shared a Valentine’s Day kiss before the episode ended. While it might not seem like much for Bob and Linda, that small gesture helped ease some of the stings of their horrible night. Honestly, the episode was one disaster after another for Bob and Linda so no doubt that kiss was much-needed.

Honestly, this episode was basically a mess from start to finish for Bob and Linda. Even so, it was such a sweet episode with Bob and Linda eventually getting there. While it might not be the best of the bunch when it comes to Valentine’s Day episodes, it wasn’t bad.
