NCIS had an episode that was riveting, powerful, and emotional thanks to writing credits in the form of actor Brian Dietzen. After delivering a gut wrenching episode that seemed to lead to a possible arc we’ll see further, the characters definitely put their audience through the wringer. Who was it that put Jimmy and Kasie in danger in NCIS season 19 episode 13?

Before handling the case for this week, Jimmy is accompanied by his daughter, Victoria. She is out of school for the day after being suspended, which he finds out later. When they get a case about a dead body at Quantico, the team goes to investigate while Victoria goes to the lab with Kasie.

Their dead body turns out to be that of Phillip Hanch, who used to be in the Army but has since fallen into fringe groups and conspiracy theories. He is associated with someone who goes by Raven, who has a goal in mind in the form of terrorism.

During the course of the investigation, they come upon a flask that ends up containing a biotoxin. Unfortunately, Jimmy and Kasie are not aware of this before opening it and smelling it. While they are in lockdown in the lab, Torres keeps an eye on Victoria.

NCIS season 19 episode 13 puts Jimmy and Kasie’s lives in danger

We find out that Torres has come to bond with Victoria, often coming to spend time with her and he becomes someone she can open up to. While the rest of the team works to find out why their victim had a biotoxin on his person, Torres keeps Victoria distracted as her dad and Kasie struggle.

This episode truly was an emotional roller coaster. From the team trying as hard as they can to find the antidote to the biotoxin to Torres listening to Victoria’s concerns about her dad, there was no shortage of emotional moments. Probably the moment that stood out the most was a speech Jimmy makes to his daughter when he thinks he is saying his final goodbyes. He tells her about how important it is to live and to make sure to find the helpers who will be there to save the day.

Even though the team does find the antidote in time to save their colleagues, they discover that they did not actually catch the Raven. It looks like we haven’t seen the last of him. Or her, you never know at this point.

It was great to see Jimmy as a dad this episode, doing his best to shield his daughter from his imminent death, but also learning that it isn’t what she needs. She just wants him to be able to talk to her about how he is feeling. It was something her mom would do and she wants the same for him.

NCIS season 19 episode 13 was an amazing episode! It’ll be great to see what becomes of this particular arc with the Raven. Maybe we’ll get to see another episode written by Brian Dietzen again, especially if he gives us emotional scenes like the ones here!
