The highly anticipated 2022 film The Batman is on its way in a couple more days and, boy, are we excited to see this film!

There are many reasons why this film is slated to be one of the greatest DC films of all time; the amazing cast, the stellar cinematography, the costume design, and the soundtrack are just a few of those many reasons. However, what surpasses all of these attributes is the film’s riveting story, which is said to be the major selling point.

Hearing all this rave about the film is probably making you want to go secure a ticket as soon as possible, but before you do that, we want to tell you this film’s maturity rating so that you know whether you should buy 1 ticket or multiple tickets for the fam.

Everything to know about The Batman‘s age rating is right here.

The Batman age rating

As of today, The Batman has been given an age rating of PG-13, meaning that audiences 13 years of age and older can watch this movie, however, they must do so with an older guardian.

The 2022 film was given this age rating because it has a fair share of scenes where mild nudity, moderate strong language, and moderate substance use can be seen/heard. Additionally, the movie, as expected, does have a lot of violent and frightening scenes, some of which can be seen in the official trailer for The Batman, below.

If, after knowing all this, you want to watch a different yet similar title, then you’ve come to the right place because we’ve got a couple of recommendations just for you.

Raising Dion on Netflix is a great watch for you and the family as it tells the story of a young boy who is struggling to manage his supernatural powers. The show currently has two seasons, and it has an age rating of TV-PG. We Can Be Heroes and The Thundermans are also suitable recommendations.

In addition to these titles, Batman ReturnsBatman Forever, Batman & Robin on Hulu are also great substitutions, especially if you can’t get enough of Bruce Wayne.

Now that you know both the age rating for The Batman and some amazing substitutions for this 2022 film, all that’s left to do is get some popcorn and prepare to have a superhero-filled weekend like none other.

Happy watching!
