After a bit of a hiatus, Bob’s Burgers is back and grilling up tons of new episodes. For the show’s February episode, we watched as the Belchers celebrated Valentine’s Day albeit a bit belated.

Heading into March, things can only go up from here for the Belcher family. Plus with the movie coming out in May, there are a lot of things to be excited about when it comes to Bob’s Burgers but let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet.

Season 12 has shown us episodes focused on almost every single Belcher family member. We have yet to really see Linda in the spotlight. However, with the first episode of March 2022, we’re finally getting a chance to see Linda have her time and hopefully, the episode will prove to be as fantastic as Linda’s singing is.

If you haven’t watched “Frigate Me Not,” then there will be spoilers from this point on. If you have, then be sure to let us know your favorite moment from the episode.

Here’s what you missed on Bob’s Burgers episode, “Frigate Me Knot.”

The episode begins with Teddy talking to the family in the restaurant and he explains that they’re sinking his old ship from the Navy and he’s been invited to a ceremony to see it off. Teddy explains he’s feeling apprehensive, seeing his old friends because he fell off the ship twice during his deployment.

He also explains that he was known as “Double Dip” and Linda tells him he needs to go so he’ll “win.” He only agrees to go if the entire family comes along with him. As soon as he gets there, he’s quickly referred to as “Double Dip” so Linda tries to make him seem like he doesn’t care although he keeps getting upset.

To try and make him feel better, Linda and Louise try to get something for Teddy from the ship, resulting in them asking and getting immediately denied but Linda decides to steal a bell off the ship for Teddy. He explains that the bell rang when he fell off the ship and that they have to put it back since it’s part of the ceremony.

Before they can put it back, Teddy, Louise, and Linda are ushered to the front row until they go to put the bell back. They’re eventually “caught” and Teddy is accused of stealing until Linda explains what happened. Teddy confronts his fellow sailors and they explain they’re his friends who teased him because they cared and thought it was funny. The episode ends with Teddy saving one of his friends who fell and the guys explaining that his fall actually proved that one mistake didn’t make him a bad sailor and he actually helped them when they served together.

This Bob’s Burgers episode proves how strong of a character Teddy has become.

Within the Bob’s Burgers world, Teddy is seen as a somewhat sad and lonely guy. From his behavior to his constantly being at the restaurant, it seems like Teddy really doesn’t have much going for him. However, throughout the series, we’ve watched as Teddy has secretly become an incredibly strong character.

Looking within the past two seasons, Teddy has really grown and matured as a person. In Season 10, Teddy feels down and he immediately goes to the family for help. They do help but it’s Teddy’s confidence in his own work and him just being a good handyman that proves he’s more than capable. Then in Season 11, we watched as Teddy guided Bob into making the best decision when it came to his fender bender.

Capping it off is “Frigate Me Knot.” Throughout the episode, we watch as Teddy puts up with a nickname he hates but doesn’t want to ruffle any feathers. Then he once again decides to do the right thing and put the bell back. Lastly, he finds out that his shipmates actually looked up to him and saw him as something other than “Double Dip.” It was such a nice change of pace for Teddy as he’s used to not getting a “happy ending.”

As far as characters go, Teddy has dealt with a lot during the entire series but he never seems to let it bring him down or make him feel bad about himself. Rather, we’ve watched as Teddy made almost every single bad situation into something to benefit him. It might not always go in his favor completely, but Teddy doesn’t give up and it’s a testament to his character growth and how much the writers have refined his character since the beginning.

While this episode might not be the best example, it’s nice to see Teddy finally getting some love from characters other than the Belchers. All in all, Teddy is a great guy and it’s clear in how he is written and how much he’s grown. Of all the characters on the show, there’s no doubt we’re all rooting for Teddy to finally get his happily ever after.

Bob’s Burgers airs Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
