Survivor is back on CBS with another season and you can catch new episodes each week! Survivor 42 premiered on March 9 with a two-hour episode and the popular reality TV show did not disappoint. Fans new and old were witness to another season in this “new era” of Survivor, which aims to challenge players even further than before as they compete for the million-dollar prize.

The iconic show has decreased the number of playing days from 39 to 26, while eliminating food rations for the starting tribes. That’s right; they didn’t start the game with any rice. Plus, if they wanted a pot to boil water or cook food, a machete to help build some type of structure to live under or a flint to start a fire, they had to work for it.

Fans even watched as Survivor 42’s medical staff arrived on the scene after the first challenge to deal with a separated shoulder. These three tribes will have to navigate new twists and turns, and that includes a few players choosing whether or not to smother themselves in mud and fake blood. Building bonds, lying, competing in intense physical or mental challenges is classic Survivor. Deciding to smother yourself in fake blood to distract your teammates from a secret alliance is another level altogether.

Survivor season 42 episode schedule: When are new episodes on CBS?

If you want to watch Survivor 42 and all of the excitement from week to week, it’s not too late to join! Survivor 42 airs on Wednesdays at 8 P.M. EST on CBS. Previous episodes can be viewed on cbs.com or they can be streamed on Paramount+.

The premiere episode showcased a two-player exit instead of one, with one including a medical withdrawal from the game. Needless to say, a tough reward challenge set an early stage for the contestants to know Survivor 42 is one heck of a monster to overcome.

Not only are injuries a possibility, but the bonds of friendship established in the first episode left contestants emotionally rocked after a teammate left the game without being voted out.
