Severance episode 7 is now streaming on Apple TV+ and it is possibly the most shocking and revealing episode yet as the season 1 finale draws closer. If you have already watched the episode, read on. Otherwise, please note there are big, big spoilers ahead for Severance episode 7, “Defiant Jazz.”

Wild theories about Severance have been circulating the internet since the beginning. Many believed that Helly was really Juno, Petey’s daughter. That has been proven to not be true. Another hot theory is Mark’s wife. What truly happened to her? Well, Severance episode 7 has given fans a major reveal!

Final spoiler warning.

Severance episode 7 reveals who Mark’s wife is

All this time, we have been thinking that Mark’s wife is dead. After all, that’s why Mark took this job. He was unable to work, live, move on, without his wife. So what better way to literally forget her, than to work at Lumon? His wife died in a car accident, we even see the location of it as Mark pays it a visit.

Inside Lumon, we see that Mark has some memories when he creates a tree (the tree he visited earlier) out of clay as a candle from his home is burning. And, at the end of episode 7, we see Mark taping a picture together of his wife, which we learn is Ms. Casey.

If his wife didn’t really die, what happened to her? Could “Ms. Casey” be a robot? A clone? If so, why take her to the break room? If she’s a robot, they can just program her system, same for a clone. I’m thinking she really is Casey. Cobel also comments how it’s incredibly that they “don’t remember each other,” meaning that Ms. Casey must have some memories, she’s a human. This still doesn’t explain

how

she’s alive. Did Lumon plan the accident? Maybe she worked for Lumon before Mark did. We have sooo many questions!

Severance episode 8 premieres next Friday, April 1, only on Apple TV+, don’t miss it!
