The Disney+ Marvel series, Moon Knight, has Steven Grant and Marc Spector globe-trotting. While we open the show in London with Steven, the show eventually flings him into action in various locales. Most notably, Egypt features prominently. Given the show’s premise, this isn’t surprising.

Moon Knight centers on a clash between Egyptian gods via their hosts. Steven and Marc are bound to the moon god, Khonshu. He considers himself to be the protector of humanity and is on a mission to stop the goddess, Ammit, and her acolytes who are led by Arthur Harrow.

In the eyes of Ammit’s followers, humanity must be judged for their sins even before they commit them. Failing to do so risks the safety and well-being of innocents. It’s an extreme stance that sees them searching the world over for what they need to find where Ammit has been buried.

But just because the series says we’re in London or Cairo doesn’t mean that’s actually where filming has taken place. Are you curious about Moon Knight‘s filming locations? Here’s what we know!

Moon Knight filming locations

According to Atlas of Wonders, the show was filmed in the following locations:

  • Museum Of Fine Arts – Budapest, Hungary
  • Madách Square – Budapest, Hungary
  • The town of Szentendre in Hungary
  • The Bear’s Guts (winding road the car scene takes place on) – Osilnica in southern Slovenia
  • Wadi Rum, Jordan (the valley of the moon)

Budapest was used as a stand-in for London for the show. Despite much of Moon Knight taking place in Egypt, that’s not actually where the series filmed its sequences for Cairo and the desert. Jordan serves as a stand-in. So, yes, production magic is at work in this live-action adaptation.
