Bob’s Burgers: ICYM Season 12’s The Spider House Rules
Season 12 of Bob’s Burgers has truly gone by in a blur. In particular, it’s gone by so fast that some forgot when new episodes are airing, myself included.
Nevertheless, it’s almost time to close the door on season 12. However, it’s not quite there yet so have no fear because there is still plenty of time left with the Belchers. Then again, there’s a huge backlist of Bob’s Burgers episodes to watch, too.
However, in case you missed, “The Spider House Rules,” this is your catch-all on what happened in the episode. Considering the episode is focused on Louise, there’s no telling what kind of antics she’ll end up getting into. Add in her siblings and Louise has the potential for some of the worst shenanigans siblings can get up to.

Everything you missed on Bob’s Burgers season 12, “The Spider House Rules”
The episode begins with the Belcher and Pesto siblings walking home from school where Louise spots a mirror and wants to break it causing everyone to question why she’s into it. Linda explains that despite what everyone thinks, she shouldn’t lose her spunk. Later that night, Louise finds a spider in her room and decides to make friends with it. The following morning, Louise’s spider, Phoebe, weaves a web on her bed and everyone wants to kill it but Louise protects her.
They give Louise an ultimatum of either killing the spider or letting it outside. Louise decides to let her outside but immediately feels protective of her and sneaks her back in. After researching what spiders eat, Louise is outside trying to get some flies before getting caught by Gene and Tina. She tries to entice them by having them watch Louise feed Phoebe if they help which is a big no but they still agree to help her.
After dinner, Linda wants to change Louise’s sheets but, because of Phoebe, she explains that she’ll do it herself which she fails at. The disaster continues when Louise looks in her shoe box and the spider is gone. The kids divide and conquer to try and find it with Gene and Tina distracting Linda and Bob so Louise can find the spider. Louise checks the living room and can’t find it so she heads to Bob and Linda’s room.
Once she’s ready to give up, Louise finds it on her parents’ headboard where she’s overheard by Bob and she admits that she kept the spider. The whole family comes in and tries to get Louise to let Phoebe go, causing Louise to get upset. She explains that everyone thinks Phoebe is scary but Louise likes her because she connects with the spider. The episode ends with the family explaining why the different sides of Louise are great and Bob allows her to keep Phoebe in the basement.
As far as Bob’s Burgers episodes go, this easily has to be one of the best Louise episodes. It was nice to get an insight into her character. She’s usually so closed-off and doesn’t really care about what others think but it’s obvious the assumptions others make about her hurt. It was just so nice to see Louise being vulnerable.
This is an especially great episode if Louise is your favorite character on Bob’s Burgers. Even if she isn’t, it’s still really good and a reminder of how young Louise is. Either way, this episode was a lot of fun and definitely one you shouldn’t miss.
Bob’s Burgers airs Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
