We Own This City character guide: Who is each actor in the HBO series?
HBO’s new miniseries, We Own This City, premieres tonight. The crime drama is based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Baltimore Sun investigative journalist Justin Fenton.
The show was developed and written by David Simon and George Pelecanos, and directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green. Around 20 years ago HBO developed The Wire, which was a fictional story that also followed the Baltimore Police Department.
Pelecanos and Simon originally worked together on the 2002 show and teamed up again for We Own This City. A number of main cast members and guest stars appearing on the new series are The Wire alums. They include Jamie Hector, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Domenick Lombardozzi, Tray Chaney, Delaney Williams, Jermaine Crawford, Anwan Glover, Chris Clanton, Nathan Corbett, Maria Broom, Susan Rome, and Michael Salconi.
We Own This City chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force (GTTF), where corruption, policies of drug prohibition, and mass incarceration were championed at the expense of actual police work.
There’s a lot of great stars who round out the cast. So who can you expect to see in the new HBO series?
