While critics often try to write the show off due to its lower linear numbers, it’s long been a powerhouse in the world of streaming as a global hit on Netflix — where it streams stateside and internationally.

Now, here we are five seasons later and the show’s fans are just as passionate as they’ve ever been about the Carrington family and the amazing characters who round out the show’s ensemble.

With the end of the standard season upon us, networks are making their decisions about their current shows. The CW has finally weighed in on the fate of Dynasty, but was it in the form of a Dynasty season 6 order or a cancellation?

Is Dynasty cancelled?

Sadly, Dynasty has not been renewed for a sixth season. Instead, The CW has chosen to cancel the series after five marvelous seasons. The news was announced on May 12, a day that saw the network cancel a handful of other veteran series in what was one of the largest cancellation sweeps in the network’s history.

Will there be a Dynasty season 6?

As much as we’d love to report that Dynasty season 6 is happening, there are no plans for the show to continue beyond five seasons. The CW has canceled the show and there don’t appear to be any plans to shop the show around to streaming platforms, meaning season 5 will be the show’s last.
