It seems to be just another day in the office for the firefighters of the 118. They attend a cliffside emergency, and it’s clear that nothing is going to go as planned. We see in the promo that the rig ends up falling down the cliffside, and that puts Bobby and others at risk.

Will everyone make it out alive? We expect so since it’s Bobby in danger and there are so signs that Peter Krause is leaving the series, but we can’t say for certain just yet.

Characters think about their futures on the 911 Season 5 finale

Meanwhile, the characters are going to need to think about their futures. May is one of them, who is going to take the advice from Claudette to heart. It’s time for May to do something more with her life. That’s not to say working as a dispatcher isn’t important or good, but she could go to college and work her way up in the dispatching world.

Then there’s Eddie, who has decided it’s time to get back to firefighting. During the previous episode, he went home and opened up to his dad about his panic attacks. Is this going to help him on the road of recovery?

Meanwhile, Taylor and Buck will need to have a discussion about their future together. Buck isn’t happy that Taylor seemed to break her promise. Look, she didn’t break her promise. When she reported on the news, the situation had grown considerably, Jonah had been arrested, and of course every journalist worth their salt was going to be there. But will Buck see it that way?

Maddie also needs to consider what she’s going to do next. Is it time to return to work? Is the surprise wedding going to be Maddie and Chimney?
