Supernatural finally has a spin-off for fans to watch. It’s all about The Winchesters, but when will the series premiere on The CW?
After multiple other attempts, a Supernatural spin-off is finally happening. This is a prequel series, focused on the love story between John Winchester and Mary Campbell. It’s clear from the start that this is going to completely change canon already set, so it’ll be interesting to see how the show manages to correct that wrong.
The series is set in 1972, although there will be present-day moments as Dean Winchester narrates the tale. John has just returned from the Vietnam War, and now he’s on another hunt. He wants to figure out what happened to his dad, while also helping Mary Campbell find her missing father. You see, Mary’s dad went on a hunting trip and hasn’t been home for a few days.
When you look at the promo for the series, you’ll see it is very much something for The CW. It has some Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes mixed in with the Supernatural elements.
When will The Winchesters series premiere air on The CW?
So, now that we know the show has been picked up to series, we just need to know when it will premiere. The CW has announced its fall schedule, and The Winchesters is on the list. It’s not getting the Supernatural Thursday timeslot, though.
The prequel series will air on Tuesdays at 8/7c. It’s going to be a lead-in for one of the international acquisitions Professionals. There is a bit of a reunion going on here. Professionals stars Smallville‘s Tom Welling and Jensen Ackles was in one season of that series before landing the lead in Supernatural.
Premiere dates aren’t set just yet. These dates are likely to come around June or July, but we’re looking at sometime early to mid-October based on normal CW premiere dates.
The Winchesters will air on Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW in fall 2022.
