Are Owen and Teddy leaving Grey’s Anatomy?

The Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 finale saw Owen’s Veteran initiative come to light. Has it led to Owen and Teddy permanently leaving the series?

There were a lot of storylines to cover in the Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 finale. One of those was linked to the reason Hayes left earlier this season. It was all about Owen’s initiative to help dying veterans.

It all came out to Bailey during the final episode of the season. A husband of a dying veteran came to Owen for help. However, she’s in a state that doesn’t allow the right to die, and Owen decided that he couldn’t do anything to help her. This man threatened to expose everything, and Owen had no choice but to turn to Teddy for help.

The two of them came up with a viable plan. It would involve the entire family relocating to Seattle, but the husband didn’t want that. His wife didn’t want that. And she wanted to make it look like she died in bed so not to scar their children. Owen did want to find a way to help, but Teddy put her foot down. She wasn’t going to allow Owen to break the law anymore.

The husband went through with his threat. He turned to Bailey to tell her that Owen was doing something illegal.

Teddy knew that this guy would likely go through with the threat. The person who had told the man about Owen in the first place wouldn’t lie for Owen, so the two had no choice. They had to pack everything, get their kids, and go on the run. Teddy wasn’t going to just allow Owen to be carted off to jail.

When Bailey found out, she went to hear it all from Owen and Teddy. She isn’t on board with anything that happened, especially when Owen admitted to stealing drugs from the hospital. However, she had so much going on that it was stressful to deal with it all.

In the end, Owen and Teddy got out of town. They couldn’t tell Amelia what was going on to protect her, even though she brought Leo and Allison to them. The last we saw of them they were on a plane to who knows where.

Is this it? I doubt it. There’s no way Grey’s Anatomy would leave this story open. There’s a good chance that we’ll catch up with where they’ve gone and what they’re doing now to survive. We could even see them eventually return to the hospital. Meredith seems to be the one in charge now, and we know she is willing to do things that are against the law. Look at the insurance fraud she willingly committed. This could help Owen and Teddy get out of trouble for their actions if Meredith is willing to do something to help them.
