The Bob’s Burgers Movie is finally here. With a 2022 Memorial Day release, the animated series is getting its turn on the big screen. Before the movie was officially released though, there were a lot of questions about the film. Is the movie just for fans of the series? Do you have to watch any episodes before watching the film or is it best to go in knowing very little?

Looking at the show’s animated counterparts, most could argue that a lot of movies based on animated TV shows are solid additions to the show’s canon. The movies are also great jumping-off points if you’re looking to get introduced to a series. If you’re not a fan of Bob’s Burgers, do you have to watch any episodes before seeing the Bob’s Burgers Movie?

Are there any Bob’s Burgers episodes to watch before The Bob’s Burgers movie?

Let’s be honest, most people going to see the Bob’s Burgers Movie are fans of the show. If you’re not and want to see an animated movie or get dragged along, it’s important to know if you need some background info. However, as a long-time fan of the series, I can confidently say that you don’t need to watch any episodes before viewing.

While watching a few episodes might help you get acclimated to the humor and the characters, it’s not necessary to watch any before seeing the movie. The movie does answer a lot of questions we fans have but it also does a great job of introducing everyone in the Belcher family and the roles they play within the family unit.

Of course, the major goal of the film is to both appease fans of the long-running series and still be accessible to those who’ve never watched an episode. While the movie is pitched as something separate from the series, the two go hand-in-hand. Basically, if you enjoyed one, you’ll probably enjoy the other.
