Flashback all the way to 2017 when the Bob’s Burgers Movie was announced. It was a much simpler time then and we all had no idea what was on the horizon within the next five years.

Nevertheless, after five years of waiting, The Bob’s Burgers Movie finally made its theatrical debut on May 27th, 2022. It was a Memorial Day release to remember in more ways than one, especially with some stiff competition via the other major release.

Even so, the movie has been five years in the making and a lot of us fans have been waiting to see the Belchers on the big screen. With all the hype and anticipation, there are bound to be a lot of thoughts about the film, characters, and essentially everything about the movie.

The biggest question is if waiting five years for the Bob’s Burgers Movie was truly worth the wait?

Was the Bob’s Burgers Movie actually worth the wait or overhyped?

The answer to the question isn’t a simple one and isn’t the same for every Bob’s Burgers fan, either. Overall, was the Bob’s Burgers Movie actually worth the wait? In a lot of ways, the answer is yes and in some other ways, the answer is no. As someone who is a die-hard Bob’s Burgers fan, it’s a complicated space to be in.

Regardless, The Bob’s Burgers Movie honestly did everything we all thought it would. The movie played like a slightly longer episode with some songs, and a fun plot line and featured one of the most heartfelt moments towards the end of the film. Additionally, the film did a great job of giving us some much-needed answers when it came to certain characters. Frankly, there isn’t much to dislike about the film.

Even so as a huge fan of Bob’s Burgers, the film did feel like a bit of a let-down but not in the way you might expect. While the film gave me everything I had been craving, the let-down was more on a personal level. The movie was so hyped up before its release and it’s been getting built up for years and years for the movie to end in less than two hours.

As for the one major nitpick about the film, the pacing really felt like it was off. Maybe it’s because everyone is used to working within a tight-timeframe for TV but it felt like the pacing of the film wasn’t on point. However, that’s not to say that I didn’t love The Bob’s Burgers Movie because rest assured, I did.

Regardless, it feels like the hype got a little bit too high and my expectations were just sky-high that no version of the movie would have reached them. Either way, seeing the Belchers on the big screen and finally learning some origin stories brought a tear to my eye a few times. The Bob’s Burgers Movie might not have been perfect, but it seemed to make fans happy which is all we can ask for.
