So You Think You Can Dance season 17 has only just started, but the closer we get to our Top 12, the more we’ve begun to wonder which famed choreographers will be making a return to the show.

This dance competition is highly competitive and dancers are weeded out first based on their ability to wow the judges and then on their skill level with choreography.

Can the dancers stand out in the crowd? Can they transform the steps they learn into a story that represents them and their style? These are two questions that the judges will be assessing each contestant by to see who will be moving forward.

Now that the show has wrapped week 3 in Los Angeles, it’s time to narrow the 42 dancers down to 12 in the choreography round before we move on to the next leg of the competition. Who’s the guest choreographer on deck for this round? A fan favorite!

Will Mandy Moore be a choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance season 17?

Yes, Mandy Moore will be in So You Think You Can Dance season 17. She’s the choreographer in episode 4, “The Big Cut–Choreography Round.” Moore will be lending her artistry to the competition in one of the most crucial parts of the series. This round will determine who makes it to the Top 12.

Talent isn’t the only thing these dancers will need to move forward. Charisma, stage presence, and an ability to add their stamp to Moore’s choreography is a must. She’s also not going to hand-hold them. Either they’ll be able to pick up her steps and make magic happen, or they’ll be sent home.

30 dancers will be cut on Wednesday, June 8. While we’re sure it’ll be an inspiring episode as the at home audience watches these contestants rise above the challenges they face, it’ll also be a heartbreaking one as we bid farewell to those who didn’t make the cut.

New episodes of So You Think You Can Dance season 17 air Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
