Movies and shows to stream on HBO Max (Week of June 6)

Unlike the first week in June, we don’t have a veritable smorgasbord of movies and shows to stream on HBO Max, but that’s par for the course when it comes to most streamers. The first of the month is usually top heavy with highly anticipated releases making their debuts in the weeks following. But, that doesn’t mean quality programming isn’t coming our way the week of June 6. On the contrary!

Irma Vep, a thriller starring Alicia Vikander, is based on the 1996 film of the same name. The limited series follows Mira, an actress who begins to lose herself in the role of Irma while shooting a remake of the French film, Les Vampires. It’s a very meta series that intends for the audience to get twisted up in the plot just like its lead.

A documentary about the late acclaimed chef and travel documentarian Anthony Bourdain will be making its debut as well. Also on deck is The Janes, a doc that tracks the history of the eponymous group which worked together to help women in need of an abortion pre-Roe v. Wade. Here’s what else is coming to HBO Max the week of June 6 including the short-lived CW series, Naomi, one of the lone teen superhero dramas to premiere on the network!
