During the latest installment of Variety’s Actors on Actors segment, Jennifer Aniston and Sebastian Stan sat down for a candid conversation which saw the two powerhouses coming together to reflect on some of their most iconic roles and work in the industry.

The conversation spanned a number of topics including Aniston and Stan’s most recent television roles in Apple’s The Morning Show and Hulu’s Pam and Tommy, respectively, as the pair discussed a myriad of topics.

Of course, the conversation naturally turned to Friends at one point which is when Aniston confessed she could have totally seen Stan playing a particular character on the cast!

Sebastian Stan on Friends? Jennifer Aniston says he’d have been great in cast

While discussing the process of auditioning for roles, Aniston revealed that she was terrified of the process and couldn’t get a job for nearly two years. The conversation then moved on to Friends which is when Aniston admitted that Stan would have been a great cast member on Friends.

“You would have been a great cast member on Friends,” Aniston told Stan, adding that he “would have been a Joey.”

Truth be told, we could totally have seen Stan as Joey as he definitely has the look for the role and also the comedic chops to capture the character’s persona. However, it turns out, Stan actually had always seen himself as more of a Chandler.

“My friends would always go around and be like, ‘Who are you most like?’ I always came closest to Chandler, because I get very sort of neurotic. And I just used to die laughing,” Stan confessed.

Regardless of who he saw himself playing, we have to confess that it would have been pretty amazing to have seen Stan appear on Friends back in the day… and we’re clearly not the only ones who think so!
