When will Neil Patrick Harris’s episode of Doctor Who air?
Neil Patrick Harris is going to be in an episode of Doctor Who has the “greatest villain” to go up against the Doctor. When will we see that episode air?
There have been a lot of excellent actors in Doctor Who over the years. The show has seen the likes of Richard E. Grant, John Simm, Mark Gatiss, Nick Frost, and many more guest star. Now there’s another big name joining the cast.
We’ll get to see Neil Patrick Harris in a role, and TVLine has shared the first look at his character. He will play a villain. Well, not just any villain but “the greatest enemy the Doctor has ever faced.” Who exactly this enemy is is currently unknown, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for details.
When will Neil Patrick Harris in Doctor Who?
The question for many is when Harris is going to appear in the series. There is only one more episode left for 2022. It’s a special in the fall, which is going to mark the end of Jodie Whittaker’s run in the series.
Harris won’t be in this episode. The Doctor Who episode currently in production will see David Tennant and Catherine Tate return. It’s all about the 60th anniversary of the series, and that’s the episode Harris will appear in.
What’s not clear is if this is part of the main timeline or an alternate universe. Doctor Who has set up other universes. We saw them throughout Tennant’s run, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see this being another universe where Tennant’s Doctor and Donna work together to protect the world from a villain that does look a little like The Master.
The 60th anniversary special doesn’t have an air date yet. We’re looking at sometime in November 2023. The 50th anniversary aired on Nov. 23, 2013, which marked exactly 50 years from the very first episode, titled “An Unearthly Child.” We could expect the 60th anniversary to air on Nov. 23, 2023.
