Where will the new animated Batman movie stream online?

Batman fans are getting a new kind of origin story with an entirely new character being introduced in Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios (Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires). In a recent press release, it was revealed the announcement for Batman Azteca initially came during the 37 annual Guadalajara International Film Festival.

Batman Azteca will be a feature-length animated movie where the main character resides in Mexico. Much like the deaths of Bruce Wayne’s parents, a young boy during the time of the Aztec Empire will be faced with a similar tragedy. Yohualli Coatl, who will be voiced by Horacio Garcia Rojas, will be out for vengeance after Spanish Conquistadors kill his father. The young boy will use the temple of the bat god Tzinacan to train, ultimately using this location as his “batcave” to plan against a “Spaniard invasion.”

What streaming platform will Batman Azteca find itself on?

The launch of HBO Max Latin America in 2021 has delivered in its efforts to produce original Latin American content. General Manager Luis Duran interviewed with Variety mentioning, “we promised to launch 100 shows in a year and a half; I think we’re on track to deliver that promise.” The production line for shows in Latin America includes Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios.

HBO Max is partnered with several companies to bring this animated feature film to life, including Warner Bros. Animation, Anima and Chatrone. Batman Azteca will also be a Particular Crowd film, which is “an original content label of WarnerMedia Latin America.”

Although there isn’t a release date currently scheduled for this new animated Batman movie, it’s exciting to see a new and exciting spin on a DC legend.
