Only Murders season 2: All the details to know about the new season

The highly-anticipated second season of Only Murders in the Building starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez will be back on our screens this month!

Season 1 of the fun mystery-comedy series introduced us to the trio who are residents of a chic New York apartment complex called the Arconia. They all love the same true-crime podcast and decide to start their own when a fellow tenant is mysteriously found dead, but the death is ruled as a suicide by police.

The show is created by Martin and John Hoffman and has received critical acclaim for its comedic approach to crime fiction, as well as the chemistry among its lead actors. It was first released in August 2021, gaining a season 2 renewal just a month later.

Fans of the show are ready for more crime-solving mysteries. Especially with the cliffhanger we were left with. Mabel was found leaning over the dead and bloody body of Bunny! Here’s everything we know about Only Murders in the Building season 2 ahead of its premiere.

The mystery-comedy will be back on Tuesday, June 28 on Hulu. There are 10 episodes total. The first two episodes will be released on premiere day, followed by one new episode weekly until the season finale on Aug. 23. The first episode of the season is called “Persons of Interest.”

The second season will see the trio back, but they have a big problem. Following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel need to work to unmask the killer.

Here’s the rest of the official Hulu synopsis:

"However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue – the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder."

According to Vanity Fair, the history and architecture of the Arconia will be explored. It’s also been hinted that the story could go to new locations outside of the Arconia. Season 2 will also introduce the father of Martin’s Charles-Haden Savage through flashbacks, which somehow tie into the history of the Arconia.

Houdyshell will reprise her role as we see “poignant glimpses of Bunny’s life before her death,” according to Vanity Fair.

• Cara Delevigne as Alice, an art gallery owner who becomes a love interest for Mabel
• Amy Schumer will play a fictionalized version of herself

• Zoe Colletti

Schumer’s character will be subleasing the penthouse unit that Sting had in the first season. According to Vanity Fair, the “egotistic” woman wants the trio to clear their name so she can adapt their show into a movie starring herself as a feminist antihero version of the first season’s murderer, Jan.

Steve Martin shared on Twitter that Andrea Martin and Colletti would be joining the cast, but didn’t disclose what their roles are going to be.
