What is Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin on HBO Max about?

A new addition to the Pretty Little Liars franchise is heading to HBO Max this summer! Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin drops July 28.

The teen drama mystery thriller will be the franchise’s first series to be carried on a streaming service. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and one of the writers on Sabrina, Lindsay Calhoon, have teamed up for Original Sin as co-creators, writers, and executive producers. Aguirre-Sacasa is also behind The CW’s popular series, Riverdale.

The new show has an interesting release schedule for its 10-episode season. It will premiere with the first three episodes, followed by two episodes on Aug. 4 and Aug. 11. Then the final three installments drop on Aug. 18. A’s targets will be played by actors Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Maia Reficco, Zaria, and Malia Pyles.

What is Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin about?

Though it lives in the world of the original Pretty Little Liars, the newest series in the franchise takes place miles away from Rosewood. We’ll be introduced to a brand new town, Millwood, with a new generation of little liars. And, unlike PLL, the parents of the teens have their own dark secrets they are hiding.

Two decades ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town apart. In present day, the group of five new little liars will find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant, aka A. The mystery person is looking to make their parents pay for the secret sin they committed 20 years ago, as well as their own.
