With Thor: Love & Thunder due to be out next week, fans eagerly await the arrival of the fourth film in Chris Hemsworth’s turn as the hero, since most superheroes have rarely gotten a fourth movie.

Thor, Valkyrie, and the Guardians of the Galaxy team up with a long-absent Jane Foster as Mighty Thor to take down Gorr the God Butcher, who is portrayed by the incomparable Christian Bale. The problem is that with so many heroes dropping like flies, it only makes sense for some fans to believe that the God of Thunder may not see another film in the MCU.

Why would that be? Let’s take a gander down the MCU rabbit hole.

Gorr the God Butcher may kill Thor

What seems like an obvious end for everyone’s favorite God might actually come into fruition by the end of the film. Realizing that Gorr is an actual killer of Gods, and Thor is no exception, it may very well be that the final act will have Bale’s villain be triumphant in his annihilation of the MCU hero.

It would definitely make for an interesting take to see the main hero not fulfill his quest and be defeated by a villain that seems more sinister than any other creature Thor faced in any of his solo films. The strange thing is that none of this is confirmed or specifically denied which gives fans more reason to watch the film.

Thor’s arch may be long overdue

Chris Hemsworth has made a career in the MCU beginning all the way back in 2011. To be honest, the actor might be incredibly tired of playing Thor. To be fair, his work has been great, but it seems as if Marvel might be taking the character in a new direction or

It seems only fitting that, if true, the character be given a proper salute to his long reign in the MCU. The hero might have actually overstayed his welcome in the space of the MCU and it might be best if audiences covered new ground.

Jane Foster will take the mantle as the only Thor

In a world full of female empowerment, it seems that Natalie Portman will be taking over for Hemsworth. Ironheart will be doing it for Iron Man, Falcon for Captain America and most likely Shuri for the Black Panther.

Of course, it’s going to be incredibly difficult filling in for the role of Chris Hemsworth, but it seems that Natalie Portman might find some common ground as she gets her groove back in the MCU.
