Bridge and Tunnel season 2: Cast talks upcoming season and roles
By Ricky Valero
We are adding to your list of shows to watch with the upcoming release of Epix’s Bridge and Tunnel season 2 this Sunday, July 10. We had the pleasure of sitting down with a few of the stars to talk about their roles in the upcoming season.
Bridge and Tunnel season 2 picks ups exactly one year after the events of last season. We follow Jimmy, Jill, and the rest of the gang as they are entering Manhattan. As they make the move closer to the big city, we can expect big things happening, from new loves to the crew getting one step closer to making their dreams a reality.
Having watched all of season 2, I cans say that I enjoyed season 2 more than the first one. The series is short, consisting of only six episodes, which makes for an easy binge, but writer Edward Burns took the next step with these characters and provided more depth from each of them. This causes audiences to become more emotionally invested. I found myself more interested in what was happening because of Burns’s approach to the season. Also, two standouts are Isabella Farrell and Caitlin Stasey, who thrive in these roles. There’s one scene in the season finale from Isabella where she has a fantastic star-making moment. You’ll know when you see it!
Hidden Remote sat down with Sam Vartholomeous, Caitlin Stasey, Jan Luis Castellanos, Isabella Farrell, Brian Muller, Gigi Zumbado and Erica Hernandez to talk about their roles in Season 2 of Bridge and Tunnel.
Check out the video version of the interview here.
Bridge and Tunnel cast talks about their roles in the newest season.
Hidden Remote: Sam, how did you approach Jimmy in season 2 now that you’ve got a season under your belt?
Sam Vartholomeous: I got away from New York for a little bit, as did Jimmy. I think getting away from friends and family kind of leaves you alone in a room. You have to figure out who you are without these people and comforts around you. So it helped miss people a little bit because as much as he is pursuing his passion and living his dream, you can’t help but even miss the people that piss you off a little bit.
Hidden Remote: Caitlin, when you saw the script, what did you think of the direction we see Jimmy and Jill’s relationship head down?
Caitlin Stasey: It all made sense to me. They all went off, had their experiences, and were content living these separate lives, but bounced back to each other. When they see each other, they have cosmic chemistry, and I think Jimmy and Jill will always be destined to be chemically dependent on each other in some sense. I don’t know where it will go, but I think they will be bouncing off each other forever.
Hidden Remote: Isabella, Stacey has a lot of vulnerability within her character, how do you prepare for that?
Isabella Farrell: Behind anyone’s hard exterior is a vulnerable and soft side. Honestly, I isolated myself going into it. I had a personal experience with the script, the character, and this season. It allowed me to look inward and less outsourcing of trying to make relationships like we were in the first season.
