You can never get enough of shows the whole family can sit down and enjoy together. Apple TV+ has a new one coming soon and we can’t wait! Amber Brown premieres Friday, July 29.

The new family comedy is created, written, directed, and executive produced by actress Bonnie Hunt. She is most recognizable for playing matriarch Kate Baker in the 2003 film, Cheaper by the Dozen.

The 10-episode series stars Carsyn Rose as the titular character, Amber Brown. Grey’s Anatomy star Sarah Drew plays her mother Sarah Brown. Also rounding out the cast are Darin Brooks as Sarah’s boyfriend Max, Michael Yo as Sarah’s ex-husband and Amber’s father Philip, Liliana Inouye as Amber’s new friend Brandi, Joshua Gallup as Sarah’s best friend Justin, and Ashley Williams as Aunt Pam.

So what can we expect from the new kids series?

What is Amber Brown on Apple TV+ about?

Amber Brown focuses on the titular character, a nine year old girl who is finding her voice through art and music in the wake of her parents’ divorce. And if that isn’t life altering enough for the young girl, she finds out her best friend, Justin, is moving away to Alabama.

The new Apple TV+ show is based on the bestselling book series of the same name by author Paula Danziger. In the books, while Amber’s mother is now dating Max, her father pursues a new job in Paris.

Based on the streaming services’ trailer, her dad is moving back home. This is of course good news for the youngster. Though she might be expecting something to spark again between her parents that probably won’t happen. But it seems like she has a strong support system, will make a new friend in new student Brandi, and we’ll be getting lots of heartwarming mother-daughter moments!
