English acting legend Patricia Routledge has been on our TV screens for as long as we can remember, with her role as Hyacinth Bucket in the BBC comedy Keeping Up Appearances being one of the most iconic characters from the network. In recent years, however, the 93-year-old star hasn’t been seen in front of the camera nor at big events like she previously would be. Her last acting credit, for instance, was all the way back in 2005 for her narration work on the series Blips.

Routledge’s fans miss seeing her despite still always rewatching Keeping Up Appearances, so they’ll be happy to know that she just made a very rare appearance for a great reason. According to The Sun, the actress was just seen out publicly for the first time in five years, where she was recognized at the London’s Freemason Hall and was given an honorary membership of the Royal Academy of Music. Other celebrities such as Lin-Manuel Miranda and Matt Lucas were honored as well.

Author Nula Suchet was also in attendance and was sure to snap a photo with Routledge, which she shared on social media after the exciting event. Check it out below!

It’s great to see Routledge out in good spirits. As for any potential return to acting, we wouldn’t get our hopes up. Fans will remember the celebrity previously slammed the BBC for cancelling her show Hetty Wainthropp Investigates without telling her. The crime drama ran for four seasons and she believed they would be doing another. As reported by Digital Spy at the time, Routledge said in a 2008 interview: “The BBC’s run by ten-year-old children.”

Of course, there are other networks Routledge could work with other than the BBC, but for now we’re just excited to see her out.
