This Sunday AMC will air a live special about the upcoming spinoffs for The Walking Dead Universe.  Chief content officer Scott Gimple will be on hand to talk about the future Rick and Michonne limited series. The special will air for one hour with Chris Hardwick as they preview what is to come from now until to 2023.

The Preview Special will have a lot of new faces alongside Scott Gimple. Terry Crews, Gillian Bell, and the amazing Anthony Edwards will be joining Scott and and director Michael Satrazemis of Tales of The Walking Dead. There will most likely be a big segment on Tales of The Walking Dead which airs on August 14th. Possibly teasing the Rick and Michonne spinoff that was just announced at the San Diego Comic-Con. Along with some potential news on the Daryl-centric spinoff that we have heard so very little about. That spinoff is set to start filming in September according to Norman Reedus. As well as Isle of the Dead starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, that is filming right now in New Jersey. That is the list for the future of The Walking Dead Universe so far, tune in to AMC on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Other than Tales of the Dead which will we see next week, all other spinoffs are set to air in 2023. There is much to look forward to in TWDU but there is one missing piece that is a major problem for AMC. The missing Queen. Carol Peletier.

Melissa McBride was supposed to star in the Daryl spinoff with her long time best friend and soul mate Daryl Dixon. Due to location being untenable for McBride, she was unable to join Norman Reedus in Europe. AMC Reps did say they are having talks and working on other ways to bring her back to The Walking Universe.

Suffice it to say fans are still confused why there wasn’t more of a compromise for the shows leading lady. It later came out by Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan that she needed a much needed break after 12 years. No official statement regarding that has been said by either Melissa McBride or AMC. Nonetheless as far as we know right now the Daryl spinoff is continuing. Fans continue to make their case to bring Melissa McBride back into the fold because the series is not the same without her. It certainly is not the same seeing every lead of the show being promoted for a spinoff and the extreme talent of Melissa being left off.

10 reasons why Carol Peletier deserves to be in the future of The Walking Dead

We all know Carol deserves to be in the future, and that we will see her again, but now we take a look back on why it is vital that Carol is a part of the future. Here are just a handful of Twitter responses to back that up.

"“Carol has been used to add flexibility and adapt storylines the comic character doesn’t appear in. Now that the comic stories are coming to a close, she deserves her own time and her own unique story. “ @Mayrwyn1"

"“Carol has earned her place, time after time. CDC-her bag of tricks had a grenade. Terminus-she single handedly destroyed, preventing Rick/Daryl/Michonne kabobs, Wolf invasion into ASZ, again took them out. Whisperers-Carol. She is pragmatic, beautiful, an absolute survivor.”@deniselynne1966"

"“Carol is proof that you can change. Get Stronger. And that it’s ok to NOT be ok sometimes. She is the realest female character I have ever experienced. She’s flawed but always puts others needs before her own. She’s earned a moment to peace.” @espykins"

"“From a narrative pov because her story is unfinished. Or eleven seasons of struggle, she’s earned a properly developed and sensitively written ending, such as Angela Kang set up with the Caryl spin-off in mind in season 10. Season 11 is not and cannot deliver that given how little screen time Carol has had. “We have a future” needs to be true. If it was a lie, it is an injustice both to the audience and to the actors. From a non-narrative pov, Melissa McBride is, after Andrew Lincoln the most acclaimed actor on The Walking Dead.” @Lightenerrthang"

"“Carol is one of the most iconic characters in TV history.” @WindPixie"

"“Carol represents victims of abuse who found the strength to fight, to be free from their abusers. She can be an inspiration for all people who are still trying to find the strength to fight back.” @MandellaMary"

"“She has had one of the best character progressions in the entire series, and deserves to have that continued. Not to mention that there are so very few over 50 strong, badass female characters on tv.” @Cat8Creek"

"“Because she is the best example of someone adapting and doing whatever it takes to survive. Which is one of the main themes of the show. Plus Melissa McBride is incredible and her chemistry with Norman Reedus is off the charts.” @JessieJam1515"

"“Carol has had the most amazing journey on the show. She has shown incredible strength through all she has endured. Her devotion to her family is unmatched. She is indeed, a force of nature.” @HonkyTonkWoman2"

"“She does what others won’t do. A warrior, but also a heart of gold for TWDFamily. Also, damnit she deserves to be in the Carol and Daryl spinoff we were promised over 2 years ago. Melissa McBride has given her blood, sweat, and tears by giving Carol Peletier breath. She inspires.” @deniselynne1966"

The Walking Dead’s final episodes will air in October but fans are already feeling the heartache of not having Melissa McBride moving forward. As they should she is arguably one of the best actresses on the show, if not the best.

The void of Carol is a huge one is going to be felt immediately. Carol is also team family’s best secret weapon. She has remarkably saved the group repeatedly. Battling her own daemons to do what needs to be done for the group. She’s saved, she’s conquered, she truly is the Phoenix of The Walking Dead. Rising from the ashes time and time again. If that isn’t enough her character has saved real lives by giving abuse victims a pillar of strength to look up to.

To show just how much Melissa McBride’s and Carol’s story means fans online will be taking part in a blitz on Twitter during the preview show this Sunday at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET. If you would like to see her story continue as well join in the fun to tell the world and AMC what Carol and Melissa mean to you, and how you are looking forward to seeing Caryl reunited once more.
