This week, The Challenge: USA competitors dealt with all sorts of challenges that were out of their control. From not feeling too well to not being able to overcome their fear of heights, several players decided to take the easy way out, but that didn’t stop anyone from making big moves.

Here’s what you missed on this week’s episode of The Challenge: USA.

The Challenge: USA episode 6 recap

After saying goodbye to Azah Awasum and Melvin “Cinco” Holland Jr., new teams were created once again.

By a stroke of luck, Ben Driebergen and Sarah Lacina—the players who were utterly betrayed last week by Tyson Apostol—were paired together. Initially, this duo thought of ways to get revenge on their fellow Survivor alum. However, after this week’s competition proved to be much easier said than done, they quickly realized that they’ll have to wait a little longer to get even.

Week 6 Competition: “Containment”

In this challenge, competitors had to use their brains and brawn to finish strong.

First, they started with a light swim to a ladder that led to huge containers that had different colored skulls displayed throughout. The players were then required to memorize the number/color of the skulls they saw on each container, but the only way to get from one container to the next was to use a rope swing to get across. Once successfully swinging across, both players had to meet in the middle platform, dive into the water, and swim back to the start to solve a complicated math equation. The fastest team to complete this won this week’s competition.

Despite Tyson being the comp beast that he is, he, unfortunately, was paired with Kyra Green. Green suffered from a stomach bug the night prior and wasn’t feeling her best during the competition, which is why after she somersaulted into the water by mistake, she tapped out, resulting in Tyson and Kyra ending up in last place…but not for long.

Tyson and Kyra may have had a disappointing performance, but the pair didn’t hold a candle to Justine Ndiba and Enzo Palumbo’s sad attempt. While Justine did her best to hold up her end of the team, Enzo was too afraid to swing from one platform to the next. He remained stuck in place for so long that host T.J. Lavin was left with no choice but to disqualify the team.

Because Enzo didn’t even make it to the platform, he and his partner, Justine, were sent into the Arena. Tyson somehow avoided his fate yet again.

Winners: David Alexander + Desi Williams

Losers: Enzo Palumbo + Kyra Green

Similar to last week’s team, Kyra and Enzo refused to name teams they wanted to go against. The tension in the house was so thick because of Tyson’s big game move, they saw it best to leave their fate in the hands of this week’s winners.

David and Desi toyed with the idea of throwing in Ben and Sarah, at first. After all, it would be the perfect time to get out two strong players. But, because of Desi’s loyalty to the Survivor crew (and because of how scary Sarah can be when she’s upset), this team saw it best to throw in a duo none of their alliance members would mind if they left.

Week 6 Elimination Competition: “Spelling Eeb”

Competitors: Enzo Palumbo + Kyra Green and Derek Xiao and Shannon St. Clair

In the Arena, the players tested their brains and brawn yet again.

The first half of the competition required each individual to spell a word backward. If both players got their words right, they got to take five tires off of the piles they were required to stack one by one in the second half of the competition. If even one player got the word wrong, however, their team had to stack every single tire. By the end of the spelling bee, Derek and Shannon received the advantage and only had to stack 45 tires. Enzo and Justine were not so fortunate, having to stack all 50 tires.

The second half of the competition was a race against time, as whichever teams took their tires to the other side would live to see another week in the house. Although Derek and Shannon were in the lead, the two prioritized speed over precision, causing their tower of tires to fall repeatedly. Enzo and Justine, thankfully, were able to catch up due to their opponents’ grave mistake, and thus, were able to secure the win.

Week 6 Eliminated Team: Derek Xiao + Shannon St. Clair

Now that Enzo successfully redeemed himself, he is no longer the player no female competitor avoids at all costs; that title is reserved for Tyson and Tyson alone. (And maybe Leo Temory.)

Which unlucky woman will have to be Tyson’s partner? Will Tyson ever be able to clean up his mess? What will Sarah do to ensure she gets her revenge? We’re bound to know very soon.
