The Greatest Beer Run Ever. Now that’s a title that certainly catches your attention! Not only that, but the new Apple TV+ movie, set to premiere Friday, Sept. 30, is also based on a true story.

There’s some productions where you can’t believe an actual person did something or experienced a certain event, and that’s definitely the case when it comes to this Zac Efron-led film!

Joining Efron onscreen are Russell Crow as Coates, Bill Murray as The Colonel, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis as Christine, Jake Picking as Rick Duggan, Will Ropp as Kevin McLoone, Archie Renaux as Tom Collins, and Kyle Allen as Bobby Pappas.

The movie is directed and co-written by Peter Farrelly. Brian Currie and Pete Jones also serve as writers. Taking on producing roles are David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Andrew Muscato, and Jake Myers.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever follows Chickie Donohue (Efron) and his outrageous plan – travel to the frontline during the Vietnam War by himself to bring the soldiers a little piece of home, their favorite can of American beer.

The show of support for his neighborhood friends and well-meaning journey quickly turns into an adventure of a lifetime as Chickie confronts the reality of this controversial war. His reunions with his childhood friends thrust him into the complexities and responsibilities of adulthood. The story is about friendship, loyalty, and sacrifice.
