Orphan: First Kill is now playing in select theaters and streaming on Paramount+! While I had my doubts about the movie, I have to say I enjoyed the prequel more than the original movie. The cast did an amazing job and the story is cleverly pieced together. The standout, once again, is Isabelle Fuhrman, who returned to play Esther aka Lena. How old is the star?

Esther is back…sorta! Orphan: First Kill is Orphan‘s prequel, which many fans, like myself, were skeptical about. The movie is all about Esther’s origin story. Fans get to see where she comes from and how she ended up getting adopted in the original.

Now, the biggest concern for fans was Fuhrman’s age. She may be portraying a young child, but she’s no kid herself. Fuhrman managed to pull of playing a kid in the first movie, but that was 13 years ago. How can she play an even younger Esther now that she’s older?

In the first movie in 2009, Isabelle Fuhrman was 12-years-old, so a child herself. Fast forward 13 years, the young actress is now 25-years-old. She may be an adult, but her young features (and I’m sure some camera and makeup work), she appears very young. Fans may also recognize Fuhrman from Clove and The Hunger Games

Will you be watching Orphan: First Kill this weekend? If so, are you going to enjoy the movie on the big screen or from the comfort of your couch? The movie is rated R and runs for approximately 1 hour and 39 minutes.

Orphan: First Kill also stars Rossif Sutherland, Julia Stiles, Hiro Kanagawa, and others.

There’s plenty to watch this weekend if you’re not into horror. She-Hulk has arrived to Disney+, as well as a new episode of American Horror Stories on Hulu and Selena + Chef on HBO Max!
