Remembering 1995’s Dead Presidents: The most underrated crime film

Dead Presidents stars an incredible cast

No matter how well a script is written, it ultimately requires a talented cast to bring it to life. In the case of Dead Presidents the cast is not only blessed with acting skills, but it features artist who went on to achieve greatness after the film.

The main character, Anthony, is played by Larenz Tate, who went on to star in several well-known films and also has an extensive number of television credits to his name. Skip, Anthony’s best friend, is played by legendary comedian Chris Tucker. In addition to these two stars of the silver screen, the movie also features household names like Clifton Powell, Jennifer Lewis and Terrence Howard. The fact that many of these actors became more renowned after this film speaks to the authenticity of their talent and their ability to immerse themselves into any role they are given.

Dead Presidents is currently available on Amazon Prime Video, as well as many other video-on-demand services. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out on a well-developed script, with an unexpected plot twist and several memorable action scenes. Over the years, there have been countless crime films that have become a part of our cinematic memory. More often than not, this movie is left out of the conversation. Although it may not have received the accolades or the recognition, Dead Presidents is the most underrated movie in the crime film genre.
