Spoilers ahead of Tell Me Lies episode 2 “Hot-Blooded”

The Tell Me Lies premiere, “Lightning Strikes,” set the scene of Lucy and Stephen’s first meeting in college. It was Welcome Week at Baird College and Lucy had just arrived to campus.

She quickly made friends with her roommate, Macy, and her doormmates, Bree and Pippa. But it was only a couple of days later that tragedy struck. Macy died in a car accident. She’d crashed into a tree after attending a house party by herself.

Lucy had been invited to the party by Macy, but she’d declined. She’d been off since listening to a message her mom left on her phone where she weaponized the memory of Lucy’s father against her daughter, so she wasn’t feeling up to partying.

It seemed that the accident was cut and dry but then Wrigley called Stephen. His brother Drew needed to confess to something involving Macy. We’re not going to lie, we were on the edge of our seat in anticipation but the premiere ended before we could find out what happened between Drew and Macy.

Thankfully, Tell Me Lies premiered its first three episodes on Sept. 7, so we didn’t have to wait a whole week to learn why Drew feels so guilty. What he did was revealed in episode 2, “Hot-Blooded.”

Did Drew kill Macy in Tell Me Lies episode 2?

No, Drew didn’t kill Macy, but he did leave her on the side of the road. He’d been headed back to a party after he’d left to buy more liquor. Drew was the only one with a fake ID and had been sent out for supplies. When he was headed back, Macy’s car came out of nowhere while he was driving.

Drew told Stephen that he swerved, but his car didn’t hit Macy’s at all. When she swerved, she hit a tree. He panicked and left her there despite seeing the crash. Drew confessed he’d left the scene because he’d been drinking and had the fake ID on him. He had no idea that the person in the car had been Macy.

Stephen and Wrigley told Drew that he can’t tell anyone what happened. Macy’s gone and admitting to how he was involved would only ruin his life. While he agreed, the guilt may just get the best of Drew. We’ll have to keep watching to see how he handles keeping this secret.
