Monarch on FOX: What is the country music drama about?

Monarch, FOX’s latest music drama has finally made its land on the network. The series, which had been scheduled to premiere at the top of 2022, had been held for the fall due to delay concerns since we’re still living in a pandemic.

Now that the wait for the show is over, we can dive into the mess that it’s going to be. There’s nothing like the spotlight, business, family secrets, and unexpected reveals to bring viewers together to watch a dynasty start to come a part at the seams.

The series follows the Romans, country music royalty who’ve built their name from the ground up. They, however, are about to be seriously tested when the past joins the present for a serious clash. Not to mention with Dottie stepping away from music, it’s her daughter Nicolette’s turn to wear the crown…maybe.

The Queen of Country Music has two daughters after all and Gigi may not be so willing to continue living in the shadow of her mother and sister’s careers for much longer. Talk about drama!

"Monarch is a Texas-sized, multi-generational musical drama about America’s leading family of country music.The Romans are headed by the insanely talented, but tough as nails Queen of Country Music Dottie Cantrell Roman and her beloved husband, “Texas Truthteller” Albie Roman. Dottie and Albie have created a country music dynasty. But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown Nicolette “Nicky” Roman will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom.Middle child Luke Roman is the CEO of the family’s business, Monarch Entertainment. Luke is the apple of his mother’s eye, but he has a troubled relationship with his father, whose approval he can never get, no matter how hard he tries.  Youngest daughter Gigi Tucker-Roman is very close to her older brother and sister, but in a family of superstars, Gigi has always felt like a bit of an outcast, in spite of her incredible singing voice.Gigi is married to Kayla Roman-Tucker, a successful music manager who keeps turning down Luke’s offers to join forces with the family company.
