The Cleaning Lady season 2 premiere: Does Thony get Luca back?

Major spoilers ahead of The Cleaning Lady season 2 premiere

The Cleaning Lady season 2 premiere, “Sins of the Father,” dropped us into the aftermath of Marco taking Luca from Thony. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long to find out whether or not her husband would be successful in taking their son back to the Philippines.

With Garrett’s help, Thony was able to prevent Marco from leaving the country. The two had chased him to the airport in the hopes of being able to put Luca back in Thony’s custody. Unfortunately, she couldn’t prevent Marco from running off with the child again.

All Thony was left with was one of Luca’s stuffed animals, proving that the two had been at the airport and she did actually hear her son calling for her. It seems Marco took Luca in an effort to force Thony to go back home with him. Yes, this does mean he used Luca as a bargaining chip which is unsavory, but it also serves as a contrasting parallel to when she took Luca from him.

While the circumstances were different considering Thony felt she couldn’t wait any longer for Marco’s visa to come in when Luca was getting sicker, the fact of the matter is, this couple haven’t been good to one another. After all, Thony snuck out under the cover of night and Marco only found out because he woke up.

Communication is not their strong point and this proved fatal in “Sins of the Father.”

Does Thony get Luca back in The Cleaning Lady season 2 premiere?

Yes, Thony did get Luca back before the premiere ended. However, it came at the cost of Marco’s life. He’d warned her to come alone to the motel where he was staying with Luca, but Fiona and her son, Chris, tagged along anyway.

When the situation between Thony and Marco got heated, it was Fiona and Chris who were there to defend her. But when Chris stepped in, his uncle grabbed him. Furious, the teen shoved him off. The momentum from the push sent Marco tumbling down the motel stairs. He died on impact when his head met the ground.

So, while Thony does have her son back, Fiona’s is about to experience a tremendous amount of guilt when all he wanted was to return his beloved cousin home safely.
