Mary follows a lead her father has sent, giving us another Supernatural throwback in The Winchesters Season 1, Episode 2. Here’s how to watch the new episode live tonight.

There is still a lot in this story that doesn’t match canon set in Supernatural, but it seems like one mystery has been solved. For years, we’ve known John Winchester was too young to serve in Vietnam, and now we’ve found out why. He lied about his age, something that a lot of men did during this time period and during the World Wars.

Will some of the changes to canon come up later in the series? I’m still putting this show in an alternate universe for now until we learn the full story Dean is telling us. There is a chance that this is all made up as a way for Dean to feel something good about his parents’ lives together.

For now, we have another case to figure out. Bringing us a Supernatural throwback, Mary gets a story sent to her by her father, and she neds to figure out what’s going on. Her group of hunter friends will come with her for the ride.

Millie and John don’t see eye to eye in The Winchesters Season 1, Episode 2

Millie is obviously protective of her son. John is all she has left, believing that her husband just up and left her—we know what actually happened. Now that John has learned about hunting, Millie isn’t too sure that this is a good path to go down. The two don’t see eye to eye.

To be honest, John isn’t a fan of some elements of hunting. He likes the fights but not the research. It’s easy to see where Dean got his act first ask question later approach from. Sam is very much like his mother.
